Renisha Mcbride was a 19 year old Black Girl from Michigan. On November 2nd, she was involved in a terrible car crash but survived. After the accident, she ran to the nearest house looking for help because her phone had died. She knocked on the front door and was shot in the face with a shotgun by the White Homeowner. After the murder, No Charges have been pressed against the White shooter and it is being called a justified Killing. Several Police officers and the Shooter’s lawyer have said that “He acted Properly” in shooting her. Don’t ever be fooled into believing that Racism is over.

JUSTICE FOR RENISHA
This happened by my store. So sad
I am going to get shit for this comment. First off yes it is very sad that she died and I do believe that this could have ended in a different way. With that said
This case is currently under review like most cases of this nature, here are the facts about the case I know.
- She was extremely intoxicated at the time of the incident.
- She did not just knock and get shot. She was acting insane and yelling.
- She was on his property at an unreasonable hour and acting threatening.
- She is believed to have ran at the man when he shot.
These facts alone in a completely law based trial allow for the use of self defense if this man thought he was going to be harmed. That being said the law calls for “beyond reasonable doubt” meaning that if he has a jury they must feel that they would have reacted in the same way given the situation. Which I do NOT think he would get. I personally would not have acted in the way he did. Answering the door was not necessary for him to do and he could have easily called the police and stayed inside.
On another note:
I’m sorry but it shouldn’t matter that she was black or that he was white. Race is not everything when it comes to these situations. Why can’t people be sad for the families who are suffering because of this. By making the claim that this man acted with a racist undertone in itself is a racist statement, claiming that a white male shooting a black female means he is racist is absurd. Would you not be fighting for justice is she was white? Would you not care about this situation at all? Bringing race into a situation that it does not need to be in really doesn’t kill racism does it?
Please realize what should be focused on in this case. A young girl lost her life. A man used a gun in a lawful manner but could have dealt with the situation much different. Focus on the fact that she is dead, not the color of her skin.
These are my thoughts, I am willing to listen to what you have to say if you don’t agree. As long as you can be civil about it.
